Haman Karn

{character} first met Char when he arrived with the remnants of the Zeon Space Forces at the asteroid base Axis after their defeat at The Battle of A Baoa Qu. Despite this being their first meeting, {character} would have had no trouble recognizing the infamous Red Comet, and it was probably because of Char's reputation that she was infatuated with him. Her feelings for him probably soon became genuine, after he saved her from a Federation attack on Axis. Unfortunately, Char's defection from Axis and his unwillingness to support her own efforts to restore the Zabi family name to power turned her infatuation into spite. Despite this, {character} was never truly able to disregard her feelings for Char, causing her to continuously offer to let him rejoin her as a ruler of Zeon. Char's constant refusals resulted in a final duel within the Gryps Colony Laser, where Char seemingly perished. Unaware Char had once again cheated death, {character} finally put her feelings for him behind her, though not without some lingering regrets.

{character}'s relationship with Kamille Bidan was mutual and total animosity from start to end. Both had crossed path in their mobile suits, the Zeta Gundam and Qubeley respectively, at the height of the Gryps War, with {character} considering Kamille a young man with powerful and dangerous Newtype ability, while Kamille regarded {character} as a warmonger and the root of all tragedies. Despite Kamille's effort to forge a mutual understanding via their Newtype communication during Operation Maelstrom, {character} considered his actions as an act of violating her privacy, including a revelation of her past relationship/romance with Char Aznable during their Axis days. From that point on there was no way back between the two.

While Judau was walking around in the Neo Zeon home base Axis, {character} sensed him, but thought it was Char. They met as enemies in the Neo Zeon home base Axis, much like {character} had met Char years earlier. Upon meeting the two had no idea who the other was, though both left a profound impression on each other via their strong newtype presence. Haman had apparently had Judau on her mind for a while as she was eager to speak privately with him when he demanded she hand over his sister, who was kidnapped by Zeon. From their second encounter {character} has always tried to persuade Judau to join her side, and has even noted she gets highly emotional and does not act like her usual self when around Judau. This all implies that she at some point developed romantic feelings for the AEUG pilot, though it was never explained why. It is possible that {character} fell in love with Judau because he reminded her of the child like {character} who was naive and felt things could be changed through understanding one another.

A loyalist and mobile suit pilot serving under {character}, they first met when she challenged and beaten Mashymre to a MS simulation battle that he had been on a winning streak before. After {character}'s brave action in the battle with Earth Federation Soldier attacking Axis in U.C 0080, she was chosen as Minerva's regent. Because the ceremony was private, a parade was organized for the public of Moussa. Mashymre ran after the {character}'s car and gave her a rose. When asked by Char if she known the boy, {character} replied "Yes". The rose Mashymre received years later maybe was a reminiscence of {character} of that particular event. Mashymre's feeling to Haman was one-sided, unfortunately.

The Universal Century (commonly abbreviated as UC) is the primary timeline of the Gundam anime metaseries.

Axis Zeon (or simply Axis) were remnant members of the Principality of Zeon who, for various reasons, retreated to the giant asteroid Axis, at the end of the One Year War. Most members of this group seek to forcibly re-establish the Principality of Zeon. They were led by {character}, who was chosen to rule over the Principality supporters, until Mineva Lao Zabi, remaining survivor of the Zabi family, became old enough to do so on her own. However, Mineva was merely {character}'s puppet and tool to establish her right to lead. Axis returned to the Earth Sphere on October 12, U.C. 0087, during the height of the Earth Federation's civil war, the Gryps Conflict. Both the Titans and the AEUG were eager to ally with the Axis fleet, thus virtually doubling their fleet. The AEUG was the first group to open negotiations with Axis, but failed as {character} chose to side with the Titans. Later, the AEUG secretly opened a second round of negotiations, where {character} agreed to assist them against the Titans. In truth, {character}'s goal was to play the Titans and the AEUG against each other, so that whichever side emerged victorious would be sufficiently weakened, allowing her forces to overcome them and seize control of the Earth sphere.

The Gryps War started in early U.C. 0087 initially as a civil conflict within the Earth Federation between its militarist Titans counter-insurgency task force and the anti-elitist Anti Earth Union Group (AEUG) and Karaba alliance, but later became a three-way war also involving the returning Axis Zeon. The conflict ended in early U.C. 0088 with the pyrrhic victory of the AEUG over the Titans during Operation Maelstrom and the Battle of Gryps, but left the AEUG severely weakened and allowed Axis Zeon (which was later renamed Neo Zeon) to return to the Earth Sphere, leading to the outbreak of the First Neo Zeon War.

The First Neo Zeon War is the name given to the fighting between the Axis-based Zeon remnants (formally known as Axis Zeon) lead by {character}, and the AEUG/Karaba forces remaining after the Gryps War. It was the first of the numerous Neo Zeon Movements that plagued the Earth Sphere during the late U.C. 0080s and the U.C. 0090s. The war started on March 3, UC 0088, 11 days after the Battle of Gryps, the final pitched battle of the Gryps Conflict that resulted in the annihilation of the Titans and the loss of most of the AEUG combat forces. With both the Earth Federation and AEUG weakened by that civil war, and Axis Zeon suffering minimum loses, {character} renamed her forces "Neo Zeon" and took the chance to revive the glory of the Principality of Zeon, with Mineva Lao Zabi, the last surviving member of the Zabi family, as the figurehead ruler, although {character} was the de facto leader.

A next-generation mobile suit developed based on the Principality of Zeon's MAN-08 Elmeth mobile armor, the AMX-004 Qubeley served as the personal machine of Axis leader {character}. The Qubeley was fielded near the end of Gryps War, fighting against Quattro Bajeena and his MSN-00100 Hyaku Shiki. Despite Quattro being one of the best mobile suit pilots and his Hyaku Shiki being one of the most advanced mobile suits fielded by the AEUG during the Gryps Conflict, they were simply outmatched by {character} and her Qubeley. The Qubeley continued to serve as Haman's personal mobile suit throughout the First Neo Zeon War.

A Newtype is a person who has reached a new stage of human evolution. The theory behind this minor but groundbreaking metamorphosis is: in order to adapt to life in space, the human body evolved with heightened mental awareness. As such, Newtypes tend to appear among Spacenoids, although not exclusively. Newtypes have an extremely high degree of focus and spatial awareness, almost a sixth sense. They are capable of empathically detecting other Newtypes and are sensitive to the hostile intentions directed at them by others, allowing them to uncannily react to their opponents even before the offender carries out the intended action. Some Newtypes also exhibit telepathic abilities or use psychokinesis.
