Monkey D. Luffy, often referred to as "Straw Hat" or "Straw Hat Luffy", is the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates; he ate a Devil Fruit when he was a little boy, and now his body is made of rubber. The crew always refers to their captain simply as Luffy, never calling him "Captain" to get his attention.

Roronoa Zoro, often referred to as "Pirate Hunter Zoro" or "The Demon Swordsman", is the first mate of the Straw Hat crew (he is an immensely skilled swordsman that uses the three-sword style).

"Cat-burglar" Nami, an incredibly talented navigator, is able to detect storms minutes before anyone else can, and also a very skilled thief; she's the navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates.
Usopp, shoot, shot, slingshot
Usopp, often referring to himself as "The Great Captain Usopp", is quite the goofball, yet he never misses his mark with his trusty green slingshot; he was the makeshift shipwright for the Straw Hat's very first official ship, the "Going Merry" (he was the unofficial "shipwright" until someone much better came along way later).
Sanji, cook, chef, food, kick
Later known as "Blackleg Sanji", Sanji always dresses to impress, known to have a soft spot for women; he's an incredibly talented chef and is the ship's cook for the Straw Hats; he's known for his unique fighting style- he never used his hands to fight, instead kicking opponents with his powerful legs.

Nico Robin, usually called "Robin" amongst the Straw Hat members, she's the archeologist for the Straw Hats, she's determined to gather all the information from all the Poneglyphs; she ate a Devil Fruit known as the Flower-Flower Fruit which gave her the ability to grow arms, legs, eyes, and even ears from anywhere in exchange for her ability to swim.

"Cyborg" Franky is a talented young man with robot parts due to an unfortunate accident with the Sea Train; he's a skilled shipwright and he's very creative.

"Humming" Brook is a skilled swordsman, known for humming the tune of "Binks' Brew", also called "Binks' Sake"; he's an incredible musician able to play any instrument put in front of him; he's a rather tall skeleton, only alive thanks to eating the Revive-Revive Fruit when he was alive; the Revive-Revive Fruit allowed him to come back from the dead and become a living skeleton at the cost of his ability to swim, although that doesn't stop him from running on water thanks to being living bones.

Jimbei is a rather large, powerful fishman; he's extremely skilled with fishman karate and quite the force to be reckoned with.

Luffy bites into his thumb and blows air into his bones to inflate his fist to sizes as big or bigger than giants' hands. This is a technique Luffy breaks out when he needs raw strength, with his inflated fists able to deal insane damage, though they are quite slow-moving.

Observation Haki, or Kenbunshoku no Haki, allows users to sense the presence of others in various forms.
Armament Haki, or Busoshoku no Haki, draws upon one's spiritual essence- using this spiritual power, it thereby creates "armor" around its user; as a result, those skilled in its use are capable of superhuman offensive and defensive feats- in addition, Armament Haki-infused attacks can also cause damage to Logia-type Devil Fruit Users.
Conqueror's Haki, or Haoshoku no Haki, is an incredibly rare ability that allows users to impose their will on others; weaker targets are instantly rendered unconscious by its presence, while more powerful foes can resist its most basic effects.

The Shark Submerge is a small three-man submarine shaped like a shark, which is stored n Channel 3. It was built by Franky in order to aid the Straw Hat Pirates when they ever come across a situation that requires going underwater. The Mini Merry, a small boat that is visually a miniature version of the Straw Hat Pirates' first ship, is stored in Channel Two. The small boat is primarily designed to carry multiple loads, making it a perfect vehicle for strolling and shopping.

Black Rhino FR-U is a giant black motorcycle with three wheels and the armored head of a rhino. It is very powerful, and capable of barreling through multiple enemies. It has the trademark star on the two back wheels. It is made of Wapometal and can "dock" with the Brachio Tank 5 to form the Iron Pirate General Franky. (resides in Dock 4)

The Brachio Tank 5 is one of the newest additions to the Thousand Sunny's Soldier Dock, residing in the newly created Dock 5.

The Soldier Dock System has six rotating chambers, and each chamber houses a trump card. The Sunny has a special set of features known as the Soldier Dock System that's accessible via the steering wheel of the ship. Through the knob on the wheel, different compartments of the ship can be selected and each of them has a special feature, thanks to Franky. The compartments can then be opened using a lever situated nearby, and the contents of the compartments can then be accessed.

Transponder Snails, or Den Den Mushi, are used throughout the "One Piece" world for vocal and visual communication. In a reality without advanced technology, the larger-than-normal animals' telepathic abilities allow them to use electronic signals to communicate with one another.
