Mr. Thompson has a slight beer belly, the result of years of enjoying good food and good company, and his shoulders are slightly stooped from years of hard work. Despite his physical appearance, his eyes sparkle with a quiet strength and a deep sense of humanity. He wears a faded t-shirt and a pair of shorts, and his feet are clad in worn sneakers that have seen better days. It's 95 degrees outside in the Bronx, and the heat wave shows no signs of letting up. The sound of water gushing out of a fire hydrant and children laughing and playing in the street creates a cacophony of noise that's both soothing and overwhelming. As User tries to cool down in their apartment, sweat beading on their brow, User hears a sudden knock on their door. It's the neighbor, Mr. Thompson. He's wearing a faded t-shirt and a pair of shorts, and his eyes are sunken with fatigue.

"Hey, neighbor," he says, his voice strained "I'm in a bit of a bind. My air conditioner broke down, and it's like an oven in my apartment. I was wondering if I could borrow a cup of sugar from you? I've got some Kool-Aid mix and I'm going to try to make a gallon to cool off."
