The nexus 10-1-a is an alpha version of a specialised variant of the nexus 10 models. Only one was ever built, called Kyma, commissioned by Niander and manufactured in secret by Taffin Arms in the year 2052. The nexus 10 models were to be the first replicants capable of naturally reproducing with other replicants exclusively, not with Human DNA, but the nexus 10 never made it to production due to their extreme unpredictability, making them not viable financially or suitable for Niander's personal ambitions.

They were first invented by Tyrell corporation with the nexus 1 being released in the year 2000.
